Seabrook House Opens Transitional Living Facility: Seabrook West

Seabrook House proudly announces the grand opening of its new Transitional Living Facility, Seabrook West. The 90-day program welcomes male residents from inpatient treatment programs across the country at the newly renovated, 14-acre estate located in Tioga County, just outside of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.
“Opening Seabrook West’s doors will restore the lives of those men in early recovery,” said Seabrook House President Edward Diehl. “The program will reduce our residents’ chances for relapse by easing their transition back into everyday life, free from the stressors of addiction.”
The structured daily schedule consists of self-help and community meetings, work therapy responsibilities, mandatory participation in AA/NA meetings and intensive outpatient program. Seabrook West residents will enjoy well-appointed private rooms with queen size beds and all private baths. Local businesses in the nearby town of Wellsboro will provide patients part-time employment or volunteer opportunities and clinical professionals off-site will offer counseling services. All medical needs will be provided by off campus professionals.
“Seabrook House’s 30-day inpatient treatment model prescribes a three phase process that encourages residents to use transitional living for a minimum of three months after discharge from our four-week program,” said Seabrook House’s Vice President of Treatment Services Lynne Sennett, MPH, BSN, RN, who directed the Pennsylvania state license process. “Seabrook West will provide our residents a continuity of care that research proves is most successful in recovery.”
Matthew J. Wolf, Vice President of Business Operations, coordinated the renovation of the Westfield-based property that includes a 55 room, 10,000 square foot mansion built in 1937. This process included restoring original hardwood and marble floors, formal dining room, separate breakfast room, gourmet kitchen, large spirituality room, original wood paneled living room with French doors, private sitting room, 8 bedrooms with private baths for visitors and 10 full/half bathrooms. Similarly, renovations were made to the detached two-story residence with 24 private bedrooms, a large social room and fully functioning kitchen and dining room, bringing the total square footage to 18,000 plus square feet of living, counseling and recreational space.
